HBAN Food Investor Forum

Thursday 4th October 2018

The Davenport Hotel 8.30 - 13.00

If you are interesting in investing in Irish Food Businesses, we would like to invite you to the HBAN Food Investor Forum, a half-day, investor only event taking place on the morning of the 4th of October at 8.30am in The Davenport Hotel

If you would like to attend please email Siobhán Killen at siobhan@hban.org

While Ireland is recognized globally for the quality of its food produce, and food exports represent a significant portion of economic activity in Ireland, there are many challenges in establishing and scaling food businesses in Ireland, not least accessing investment.

HBAN as the all-island initiative for Angel Investing, which is supported by Enterprise Ireland and Intertrade Ireland, has facilitated over €90 million of direct private seed investment into 400 Irish Startup Businesses since 2008. Investment in food business, however, have made up a relatively small proportion of this.

The purpose of this food investor forum is to seek to inject new life into Angel investing in the broad food sector in Ireland by considering the wider macro environment of the Irish Food Industry (taking into account the whole supply chain) and to consider investment pitches from a selection of starting scaling businesses in the food and food supply chain.

Event Attendees

The Food Investor Forum will bring together current HBAN Food Syndicate Investors, other HBAN Investors interested in the food sector and New Investors interested in getting involved in food investing. It will also bring together other key stakeholders in the food industry including Enterprise Ireland, leading the start-up and funding agenda in the food sector, and other State Agencies Bord Bia and Teagasc. As the leading Irish food multinational which spans the food ingredients and production industry, Kerry Group, will give top-level insights into global food innovation particularly in the ingredients space. Finally, a selection of food sector entrepreneurs from across the broad food sector will pitch to investors for investment
